SWBAT describe how soldiers were compensated for their service and to evaluate whether this was a reasonable arrangement.
Students will
- Analyze the primary source materials of NJ Civil War soldiers and evaluate their compensation in terms of money and labor
- Convert 1860 US dollars to 2000 US dollars using a conversion chart
- Argue point of view using evidence from their findings
