DescriptionThis Annual Report from the New Jersey Historic Preservation Office highlights the office's activities during 2001. During the year, the Historic Preservation Office spearheaded the formulation of a new plan to guide historic preservation activities in the coming years. The office also implemented several new initiatives such as the Civil War Monuments survey, the Women's Heritage Trail project, and the Salem County survey. Twenty-one new listings were added to either the New Jersey or National Registers of Historic Places and the office's regulatory workload again exceeded the number of project reviews from the previous year. Of special note was the rise in certification applications the Historic Preservation Office assisted to qualify investors for the Investment Tax Credit.
