DescriptionPatris, built in England in 1909 by the National Greek Line founded in 1908 by the Embiricos Brothers. On her first voyage, she left Smyrna (Ismir) on March 27, 1909 and then to Piraeus on March 29th on her way to New York. As with other passenger ships sailings were drastically curtailed by 1916 during World War One and Patris did not resume sailing until June 1920. Her last trans-Atlantic voyage began in Dec. 1920.
