DescriptionH.B. Kitay's Furniture and Clothing House, 15 North Main Street, with horse-drawn delivery cart. In 1908, the store was noted, in "Paterson Illustrated" to be "one of the largest and best known furniture and clothing houses in the city. Though having many disadvantages, such as being closed on Saturday, the busiest day of the week …" Herman Kitay kept closed on the Sabbath and observed all Jewish holidays. The store, 50 x 211 feet operated on two floors and in the basement. The upper apartments were rented out, circa 1905. Photographer John Reid.
