DescriptionCharles Nagao of JACL helping Taki Sakamoto at Seabrook Farms to reclaim some of the losses accrued during the mass hysteria. Thanks to the Evacuation Claims Bill (HR3999) claims were not to exceed $2,500.

In 1951, Congress gave authorization for a compromise settlement program to laimants who were only a few years from their grave. Only 137 claims had been settled which cost the taxpayers $1,400 for the government to decide that a payment of a $450 be made. ("Years of Infamy," page 275)
