DescriptionMap showing division of property among the heirs of Cornelius Van Vorst, father of Jersey City Mayor, grandson of Revolutionary era patriot and descendant of original Dutch settler who all shared the same name. He died in 1852. This copy, made circa 1873, was owned by Julia Van Vorst, a daughter; her properties are colored in.

The exact location of the depicted area, in what was formerly Union Township, is difficult to determine. It is probably in what is now West New York.
Note"Commissioner's Map No. 3 of a Tract of land at Slongo in the Township of Union, Hudson County New Jersey, Showing the division thereof between the Heirs of Cornelius Van Vorst dec'd."
