DescriptionThere are many variations for the traditional Irish Chain Quilt. This Single Irish Chain quilt was made with two different blocks. One block is made of nine squares and the other is one large square. Traditional Irish Chain quilt patterns uses white or light solids for the larger blocks and darker fabrics for the nine patch blocks. Contemporary fabrics in shades of brown were used in this quilt to create the opposite effect for the design. Shades of brown fabrics were used for the large squares inside of a light color. For the nine patch blocks, a cream print fabric was used for the corners and center squares. Border strips were used to frame the quilt top. The completed quit top has a lattice design.
