DescriptionPortrait of John W. Griggs born in Newton, New Jersey on July 10, 1849. He moved to Paterson, New Jersey and became a licensed attorney. He was later elected to Governor of New Jersey and resigned to take on the job of the United States Attorney General from 1898-1901 during the McKinley-Hobart administration.
