DescriptionThe recording begins with a collage of mostly fragmentary audio clips of Bud Powell, Francis Paudras and others speaking, followed by street or traffic noises. Powell's famous recording of "Hallelujah" (Verve Records, July 1, 1950) can be heard at 3:36. At 6:43 there is a live solo performance of "Solfeggietto'' or "Solfeggio" (by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach) going directly into a trio performance of "Yesterdays". At 13:33, Powell performs solo on piano and sings "I Wanna Go Now" and then "When I Fall in Love" a cappella. These last two tunes were likely recorded at someone's home, possibly Paudras's apartment.
