DescriptionThis is an aerial view of Egg Harbor City, NJ, taken by V.C Otto in 1921. Mr. Otto was also from Egg Harbor City. The approximate location of the aircraft appears to be just south of Agassiz Street (US 30) and over Boston or Havana Avenues. Many points should be noted. The Liberty Cut Glass factory and Baulig's Underware Factory is on the left at the mid-line of the photo. Next to it is the Egg Harbor City School, which at the time contained all grades through high school. The various paths through Lincoln Park are clearly seen as is the bandstand and the War monument. Also seen in this photo is the gas works, which was to prove to be an environmental problem in the 1990's. Noticeably absent are the Good Will Fire House and the "Welcome to Egg Harbor City" arch over Agassiz Street that was removed to allow the widening of the roadway. Upon careful observation, one will be able to locate the Broadway Building and the "new" firehouse on Philadelphia Ave.
