DescriptionMitsuye Oi was born in Kochi, Japan in 1864. He received a degree in Classical Studies from Rutgers College in 1892. In 1895, he received an M.A. degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He then returned to Japan, where he was involved in missionary work, and also taught English at the University of Tokyo until 1900.
