DescriptionThe Sunday prime time "Fuji Hour" radio broadcast over Station WSNJ of Bridgeton was initiated as the Chapter's 30th Anniversary Commemorative Project on March 3, 1974. At the beginning Ray Ono was the spot announcer while Mariko Ono assisted Rev. Shingetsu Akahoshi in the preparation and the actual presentation of the weekly show. Ellen Nakamura served as coordinator. For the enjoyment of the Issei and other Japanese speaking listeners, the program consisted of current news, Japanese music and items of interest to women such as gourmet recipes. After twelve years of fine broadcasting the JACL "Fuji Hour" aired fo the last time on March 3, 1986.
