DescriptionThe following information and photograph was from a wall display presentation in honor of the women who served in the Armed Forces of the United States. The museum presentation was prepared for Memorial Day 2001, and remained until the end of the year. The photos were mounted on red construction paper and the narrative placed on white paper stars. Both were mounted on a blue background.
Catherine Butterhof was a WAVES Chief Pharmacist Mate. In 1945 she was Permanent Officer of the Day on the Administrative Staff of the Bethesda Naval Hospital. She moved to Florida and taught for a few years. She then opened the Learning Institute in Hialeah for exceptional children, which she operated until 1973. She died in 1976.
