DescriptionThe following information and photograph were from a wall display presentation in Egg Harbor City, NJ, in honor of the women who served in the Armed Forces of the United States. The museum presentation was prepared for Memorial Day 2001, and remained until the end of the year. The photos were mounted on red construction paper and the narrative placed on white paper stars. Both were mounted on a blue background.
Kathryn English (U.S. Naval Reserve Nurse Corps) served 2 years in St. Albans Naval Hospital in New York as an Ensign during 1945 and 1946. She was recalled during the Korean War and served four and a half years (1951-1955), at the San Diego CA Naval Hospital as a Lt.(jg) and as a Lieutenant at the Columbia River Repair Base, Tongue Point, Astoria OR and the Brooklyn, NY Navy Yard on Transport Duty. During that time she made six trips on four different ships.
