DescriptionThis pamphlet was presented to the children of Newark on Arbor Day in 1921. It describes the historic trees of Newark, complete with photographs or drawings, and a brief history. The trees included in the pamphlet are as follows: the Tulip Tree of Ridge Street; the Black Walnut of Doane Park; the Colonial Plane; the Jackson Hickory; the Academy Plane; the Napoleon Willow; a Veteran Elm of Military Park; the trees of Camp Frelinghuysen; the Centennial Linden; the Vanderpool Memorial Oak; the Monsignor Doane Memorial Oak of Lincoln Park; the Bulletin Elm of First Presbyterian Church; and the Big Tree of Belleville.
