DescriptionThis image, part of the Egg Harbor City Centennial celebration, captures Miss Centennial Queen Rosemarie Pachioli's departure to Miami Beach, Florida on July 17, 1955.
Upon winning the title of Miss Centennial Queen, Pachioli also won an all-expense paid trip for two to Miami Beach, Florida. Pachioli chose her mother, Mrs. Fred Pachioli, as her traveling companion. Pachioli also invited her cousin, Antoinette Mercanto, far right, to accompany her to Florida.
Pachioli, with one foot already on the airplane's steps, is offering a final handshake to Marjorie Wimberg, chairman of the Queen Committee. The airplane, an Eastern Airlines DC-6, looms over the assembled persons at the Atlantic City Airport Terminal off of Tilton Road in Pomona.
This photograph appeared in the July 21, 1955 edition of The News of Egg Harbor City.
