DescriptionThis photograph, taken during the 1955 Egg Harbor City Centennial celebration, features Miss Centennial Queen Rosemarie Pachioli's visit to the city library. Pachioli is posed with Anna Townsend, Myrtle Kears, and Esther Elmer in front of the library's local history display.
With the exception of Pachioli, the women are wearing improvised centennial costumes, including matching bonnets. Their costumes compliment the historic photographs in the background. Overall, this image is a charming combination of hometown pride and humor.
The city library was located in the Lafayette Fire House, which is now the Senior Citizen's Center on Cincinnati Avenue.
