Dear Marion,
Right now I’m the one on a trip. I’m in the field for 10 days, this I the 6th. The reason for all the smudges you will find on the paper is that I haven’t bathed since Friday and I’m plenty dirty.
The only reason I have time to answer now is that I’m operating a field telephone (oops that my ring). It was only another operator telling he I’d be here all night with the exception of 4 hours to wash my self and my clothes. Some fun, eh!
There’s no breaking down when I say I like the U.S.O.’s Fayetteville is full of good ones. I can’t say about N.B.’s U.S.O.’s.
I can’t say as I ever heard of an Allen Raffenberger, but if he’s from Rutgers, he’s O.K.
This 10 days in not so tough in fact it’s sort of fun. Today we’re eating regular field rations. They aren’t bad we get candy, cigarettes, lemonade, coffee, soup, cheese, + cookies in them.
This morning I had, cigarettes, coffee, ham +eggs, cookies, 3 lumps of sugar. At dinner I had cigarettes, lemonade, cheese, cookies, candy, and 3 lumps of sugar.
Well, no more time
Love,
Ken
P.S. When I get back I’ll get that picture, so you get yours ready.
