DescriptionThe Pineapple Quilt Block is a quilt pattern which can be made as a large or a small quilt. It can be made as a simple or complicated quilt. This pattern is similar to the Log Cabin Quilt Block. It starts with a central square and then grows larger by sewing strips of fabric out from the middle. The corners of each block must be perfect right angles and the opposite sides are parallel. It is important to start out perfectly square. In this quilt, there are four large (24”) blocks. Three color groups of fabric were used for the design. The pink floral was selected as the focus print. The green and brown fabrics were selected to compliment the flowers. The “X” shape that crosses diagonally through the block is the pink floral fabric. The “Plus” that crosses horizontal and vertical lines uses light green print and the medium brown fabrics. The four blocks are stitched together to create the quilt top. Three different fabrics were used as the border to finish the top of the quilt.
