DescriptionThe carte de visite was a type of small photograph mounted on a thick paper card, usually the size of a calling card, making it easily tradeable among friends and visitors. It was popular through the 1860's, after which it was supplanted by the larger cabinet card.
Henry Warner was commissioned as a Sergeant in Co. C, 1st NJV on May 22nd, 1861; he became Sergeant Major on June 1st, 1861, then was promoted to 1st Lieutenant of Co. F, 1st NJV on September 21st, 1861. On October 7th, 1862, he was promoted to Captain of Co. A, 1st NJV, and mustered out on June 23rd, 1864.
