DescriptionThe First Presbyterian Church located on the corner of Main and Ward Streets. The First Presbyterian Society in the town of Paterson was formed on August 19, 1813. The first Pastor was the Reverend Samuel Fisher. The Property for the new church was donated by the society for establishing useful manufacturers. The original church on this site was made of brick and being one of the first brick buildings in town it became known as the "Brick Church". That building was destroyed in 1850. The building was immediately reconstructed and dedicated in 1852. Additional buildings were added to the site within the next 50 years.
