DescriptionThis show shows the lower downtown merger of Market Street on the right and Park Avenue on the left. The far right shows the overhanging roof from the Erie Railroad passenger station. Behind the station is the central cafeteria in the former Bellevue Hotel. In the center is the Central Building which occupied the entire block. By 1931, the increase in vehicular traffic prompted the elevation of the Erie Railroad. Photographer: Heinrichs Brothers.
