It was established specifically for urban, Jewish garment workers, many of whom had emigrated from Europe. In this interview, Leo Libove discusses how and why he came to Roosevelt and what it was like living and working there in its early days. He discusses his memories of and thoughts on the people of Roosevelt, its industries and the obstacles they faced, and how the people of Roosevelt were treated by nearby communities.
