DescriptionEdison, built in 1896 in Germany as the Konigin Luse (Queen Louise) by the North German Lloyd Line and operated until 1920, when it was purchased by the Orient Line and renamed Omar. In 1924, the Byron Line purchased the Omar and renamed it the Edison. The Edison sailed the Piraeus-New York run with regular service to Boston. In 1928, the Edison was transferred to the National Greek Line without any name change. Its last homeward voyage began in late 1932 from New York, c. 1928.
