DescriptionThe Council for Human Services in New Jersey (formerly known as the New Jersey Welfare Council), was an umbrella group for social welfare agencies and social workers in the state. After the Second World War, the Council focused on helping displaced persons from central Europe who had immigrated to New Jersey. In this June 1, 1950, meeting, the Committee discussed reports from local social welfare agencies on finding housing and employment for displaced persons.
