DescriptionThis photograph of the Egg Harbor City Catfish Alley Band was taken on Young's Pier in Atlantic City. Although somewhat blurred, the date at the bottom of the picture indicates that this image was taken on October 31, 1914.

Harry Messinger is kneeling at the right of the drum. The clarinet player to the right of Messinger is _ Barbetto. To the left of the drum, store owner _ Weiler poses with a trumpet.

Many of the band members are dressed in costume, such at the woman in the front row, far left. Notably, a man in the back row appears to be in blackface.
