DescriptionThis photo, taken July 16, 1955, captures the winners of the Brothers of the Brush contest. The hirsute Brothers are posed outside of the firehouse, each holding a trophy. Miss Centennial Queen, Rosemarie Pachioli, stands at center.

Robert E. Hagelin, who stands second from the left in this image, won the category for the best full beard as well as the grand prize, a Ronson electric shaver. The other winners were: Walter Kendall, best goatee; Robert M. Hagelin, best mutton chop; and George Zimmer, best-trimmed beard.

This photograph appeared on the front page of the July 21 edition of The News of Egg Harbor City.
