DescriptionJersey Homesteads (later Roosevelt) was established in the 1930s as an agro-industrial cooperative community. It was established specifically for urban, Jewish garment workers, many of whom had emigrated from Europe. In this interview, Sarah Notterman Adler talks about her experience of moving to Jersey Homesteads in 1936. She describes the town and its people and how they were affected by the failure of the co-op.
