DescriptionThe federal government created Jersey Homesteads (later Roosevelt) as part of a New Deal initiative. It was unique because it was the only community planned as an agro-industrial cooperative that included a farm, factory, and retail stores, specifically established for urban Jewish garment workers. This document is a clothing schedule that includes the costs to prepare one suit. This list includes the average price of cloths, the cost of cloth, the cost of making pants or a vest, cutting, trimming, factory expenses, electricity, freight, and packing. The total cost to make one suit is $10.44 (not including double-breasted or large-size suits).
