DescriptionJersey Homesteads (later Roosevelt) was established in the 1930s as an agro-industrial cooperative community. It was established specifically for urban, Jewish garment workers, many of whom had emigrated from Europe. This document was the schedule of events for the Farmer - Labor - Co-op Picnic. According to this schedule, the day's activities began at 10 a.m., and continued until late in the evening. Those who attended the picnic played games and sports, sang, listened to guest speakers, ate, danced, and watched movies. The songs included with the program reflect the feeling of solidarity within organized labor.
