DescriptionSent on stationery from the Hotel Paramount in Boston, this letter from Ernest Wolff, the Chief Machinist of the U.S.S. Prairie, thanks the Hungarian Defense Council for a carton of cigarettes they sent him. He expresses his appreciation for all the council has done for "us Hungarian Boys." The Hungarian Defense Council was organized in New Brunswick by leaders of local Hungarian churches and societies. During the Second World War they sent supplies, such as the carton of cigarettes Wolff is thanking them for, to members of the military of Hungarian descent from the New Brunswick Area.
